Welcome to Heros Gyros! We’re born local Austinites (like unicorns!) that decided to go out on a limb and risk it all in starting a new food truck that would offer a not so common fare! We started in 2010 with the idea that offering high quality food paired with great customer service would be the corner stone to our business. Who knew in 2020, we would still be going strong!? We must be doing something right! Thanks to all the wonderful people we have met, and to all those we have yet to meet! We look forward to serving every one of you!
How Heros gyros came to be
Our business name was created as a result of much brainstorming. Many ideas were tossed around, but in the end, the decision was made to call it Heros Gyros. The story behind the name originated from the Greeks themselves. The correct pronunciation of gyros is “hee-roh”, that rhymes with Hero, and Heros Gyros was born, Try saying that three times fast!
